WHO WE ARE

WYNDHAM YOUTH ABORIGINAL CORPORATION (WYAC)

Established in 2018, WYAC was set up to support the wellbeing of Indigenous youth via the delivery of targeted programs across the continuum of needs and streamlined processes to ensure efficient access to support based on individual needs and aspirations.

In 2019, WYAC was awarded the Small Organisation of the Year Award at the Western Australian YACWA Awards.

The organisation driving force is by values, experience and determination of its dedicated workforce that assist the youth from 6 years to 25 years to achieve goals and aspirations set by them.

WYAC focuses and endeavours to inculcate respect, community ownership and accountability in each individual’s life to assimilate with the Australian Mainstream way, without losing one’s identity in doing so. WYAC’s vision is a community made up of healthy young people who feel empowered and capable of succeeding in their chosen endeavors and dreams

In partnership with the Western Australian Department of Communities, WYAC created and coordinate the Wyndham Community Hub, wherein youth and their families have access to multiple agency services (mental health, wellbeing, housing, child, and family support), in the one location.

WYAC operate from an evidence-based and outcome framework, collecting data to track the wellbeing of clients in our programs
